Modern Languages

 

“You live a new life for every new language you speak. If you know only one language, you live only once.”

All six classes in Years 8, 9 and 10 study French alongside German or Spanish at Ballyclare High School. Throughout this time, pupils are prepared for further study at GCSE and A level.

We aim

• to make language learning an enjoyable, rewarding and intellectually stimulating experience.
• to encourage positive attitudes to foreign language learning and to speakers of foreign languages, and a sympathetic approach towards other cultures and civilisations.
• to provide opportunities for personal and social development; in particular to develop their self-confidence and ability to express themselves.
