2018/19 events
Saturday 20th October 2018
Afternoon Tea at Country Cake Designs, Antrim
On arrival, over 40 of us enjoyed a cake demonstration by Lorraine, the owner of Country Cake Designs, followed by a generous helping of Afternoon Tea… We were even given tuberware to take home any uneaten tray bakes! A very successful event that raised £500. (Photos attached in email)
Saturday 3rd November 2018
ASDA Bag Pack
Members of the PTAFA along with other willing parent volunteers helped to pack shopping bags in ASDA between 10am and 4pm. We were able to enjoy conversations with shoppers and explain how their donations would help to refurbish our Lecture Theatre. A number of shoppers had connections to our school in one way or another… There were lots of people who have current family members at the school or their children used to be pupils of Ballyclare High School. Another successful fundraiser; we made £710.85.

Christmas Fayre
This year we had a great response to our Christmas Fayre; the stallholders got their names down early and the hall was packed with a variety of different stalls for people to browse and start their Christmas shopping! We were also joined by a face painter for the children, who were able to busy themselves at the craft stall and the school orchestra serenaded us while we enjoyed some tea, coffee and mince pies (or a crepe!) A fantastically festive evening which raised over £1000. (Flyer attached in email)
Tuesday 18th December 2018
Year 8 Christmas Party
We were joined by over 100 excitable Year 8 pupils wanting to celebrate the end of their first term at Ballyclare High School. We played team games, ate our way through the tuck shop and danced into the last week of term! Another £350 raised. (Flyer attached in email)
Other events…
As well as fundraising events, the PTAFA were able to provide refreshments throughout the year at various school events, such as Prize Night, AQE mornings, Spring Concert and the upcoming P7 Induction evening. We are happy to serve our school community in this way and are always on the look-out for parents, teachers and friends who are willing to volunteer their time to help us in this regard.
For further information…
If you would like to know more about what we as a PTAFA have to offer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Mrs Wallace (jwallace273@c2kni.net) Perhaps you would like to join us next year? Our first meeting of the new term is due to take place on Monday 16th September 2019 (TBC)… Everyone is welcome!
