DOE Gold Level

 

Approximately 40 pupils from Year 13 will begin the Gold level. Expedition training takes place over eight to ten weeks, and a practice expedition is in the Antrim Hills, before the qualifying in Donegal in late June. This time, Volunteering, Skill and Physical activities are completed over a twelve-month period, unless the pupil is a direct entrant, which requires an additional commitment of six months. Pupils are also expected to arrange their own four-night stay to fulfil the requirement of the Residential section of the Gold Award.
