Women Creating Our Tech Future

QUB School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEECS) are delighted to announce that we will be hosting ‘The Women Creating Our Tech Future 2019’ on Wednesday 6th March 2019 from 18:00 – 21:00 in the Computer Science Building at Queen’s University, Belfast

EEECS is fully committed to the principles of Athena SWAN (recognising advancement of gender equality: representation, progression and success for all). Our evening will provide all attendees with the opportunity to hear from inspiring women who are contributing to our knowledge economy through their contribution to creating our future with technology.

We will have interactive technology exhibits throughout the building along with information stands from a number of organisations and lighting talks.

Women Creating Our Tech Future 2019 is focused on pupils in year 11 through to 14, all genders, however anyone interested in the tech sector including parents/guardians/teachers, aunts/uncles, brothers/sisters, grandparents of pupils are welcome to attend as well as pupils in year 11 through to 14 who are interested in computing/tech and/or studying computing in school.

This evening is an informal gathering where attendees (all genders) may observe and try out the latest tech as well as sit in on enlightening talks from woman who are creating our tech future.

Attendees will have the opportunity to try out a range of tech from 3D printers, Drones, Robots, Virtual Reality headsets, Augmented Reality headsets, smart home technology and latest computer games to test.

Visitors are welcome to arrive from 18.00 – 18.30.  Enlightening Talks breakout sessions will be held throughout the evening, commencing at 18:30.  Light seasonal refreshments will also be available.
