Visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau

On Tuesday 5th March two year 13 History students, Franki Gannon and Erin Manson, accompanied by Dr Conway visited Auschwitz I and Auschwitz-Birkenau in Poland. This was organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust. The visit included a look at pre-war Jewish life in the town of Oswiecim followed by extensive visits to the Nazi concentration camps nearby. The day ended with a Memorial Service at the ruins of Crematoria II, Birkenau. Franki and Erin are becoming Ambassadors for the Holocaust Trust to help increase our understanding of the contemporary relevance of the Holocaust and to pass this understanding on to others.
