Summer Honours

By Ballyclare High School on 20 June, 2023

The Sport, Games and Cultural Committee held their Summer Honours Assembly on the 20th of June in the Montgomery Hall. Our Guest of Honour was Miss Lydia Mills, former pupil, accomplished athlete and member of teaching staff in school.

At our Assembly, 8 Honours Blazers were awarded across a range of sports, and pockets awarded recognised attainments including Grade 8 Music and placement in the National Youth Choir NI. Oliver Gunning, Rhyleigh Marks and Tom McAllister received the Lowe Globe for International Sporting Representation, with Rachel Black being awarded the Most Outstanding Girl in Sport and David Gillespie, the Most Outstanding Boy in Sport. Further mentions of outside school achievements included Irish Dancing, Rowing and Equestrian events, while Dr Rainey received back to school trophies won by our pupils in athletics. This assembly is also the culmination of our House competitions, this year won by Brann. What a superb celebration of our pupils’ achievements across sport, arts and culture!
