Summer Honours
By Ballyclare High School on 19 June, 2019
The Sport Games and Cultural Committee held the Summer Honours Assembly on the 11th June in the Montgomery Hall.
This event started on a musical note which was significant as Mr Moreland, our past Head of Music, was the Guest of Honour and part of this assembly celebrated our wonderful Wind Band’s success in winning section three of the All Ireland Championship. 16 Honours Blazers were awarded across music, athletics, cricket, womens’ football, golf and hockey.
Katie Stewart received the Lowe Globe for International sporting representation, with Matthew McCullough and Josh Cowan sharing the Most Outstanding Boy in Sport Award and Rebecca McCullough winning the Most Outstanding Girl in Sport Award. Further trophies were awarded in athletics, cricket and tennis and Dr Rainey received back to school trophies won by our pupils in music, athletics and hockey. This assembly is also the culmination of our House competitions with Dixon taking the Overall title this year.
