School Library Update

By Ballyclare High School on 7 September, 2020

At Ballyclare High School we think promoting a reading culture is very important both in supporting personal wellbeing and in improving standards across the board.  Before lockdown we encouraged our pupils to borrow a number of books from the library to help keep them reading whilst out of school.

It is time to return those books and we would really appreciate your support in ensuring that this now happens.   We are working hard to towards a phased resumption of library services in school.   In the next few weeks we hope to have set up a ‘click and delivery’ service so that pupils can once more borrow books from the school library.

We would also like to encourage you to set up virtual library accounts for our pupils with the public library.  This will need to be done by parents but it is a quick and simple process which will allow them access to a wide range of eBooks, emagazines and audio books, all for free! To do this simply log onto libraries NI https://www.librariesni.org.uk/ and follow the link for eBook/eMags.  Why not sign yourself up too whilst you are at it?

Thank you for your support and happy reading.
