Pupils hold Mock G7 Summit

By Ballyclare High School on 23 June, 2021

Pupils appointed as delegates to represent each of the nation’s members of the G7 community held a summit which centred on the preservation of the world’s oceans. Discussions took into consideration key problems affecting both plant and animal species survival and highlighted the economic implications affecting each of the nations. The key issues addressed included the increased presence of marine litter, particularly involving discarded PPE, “Ghost Gear” attributed to damaged or broken fishing nets and equipment, as well as the unsafe disposal of general household waste. Key targets were set for nations regarding these matters but equally relevant for our school to follow.
