NI Digital Awareness Week.

By Ballyclare High School on 25 October, 2022

NI Digital Awareness Week is an initiative by locally based, global smart software provider Civica and partners across the worlds of industry and education. They afford 11-18 years olds the opportunity  to try their hand at coding and hear first-hand from experts in the worlds of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity and emerging technologies.

Mrs N Ward has signed up for virtual talks which pupils have engaged with. Today, our Year 11 Computer Science pupils got involved with a session delivered by Microsoft on the topic of “Build Tech for Good”. They also had the experience of a hands on coding session with Microsoft DreamSpace during this session.  Pupils enjoyed the experience and coded while the Microsoft expert discussed the key elements within the coding that they were working on. This included downloading their coded projects onto Micro:Bit devices.

We are looking forward to other virtual sessions throughout the week which have been organised, including Cybersecurity and virtual talks from All State.
