Match Report: Saturday 7th September v Ballymena Academy

There were hard fought draws for both the 1stXI and 2AXI on Saturday morning against strong Ballymena opposition. The 2BXI were leading 3-0 at half time in their game, with goals from Olivia McCartney, Katie McCullough and Jessica Hunter; however, Ballymena came back hard in the second half to score three goals of their own and level the score at 3-3 by the final whistle. Lucy Graham was Player of the Match for Ballyclare. The 3rd XI were the only senior team to secure a win in their match, the teams separated by a single goal with a 1-0 scoreline.

The U14A team were 3-0 victors in their game, with goals from Katie Ireland in the first half, and Ellie Kerr and Rachel Cox in the second. Laura Farley was Player of the Match here. It was a difficult start for the U14B team, who found themselves a goal down at half time, but the Ballyclare girls fought back well in the second half to secure a 1-1 draw with an equalising goal from Anna Wylie. Rylee Boyd and Claudia Braiden were joint Players of the Match.

The U13 teams found themselves in similar fortunes, with a 4-2 win for the U13A team and a 1-1 draw for the U13B team, rounding off a successful first full morning of Saturday fixtures for the Ballyclare girls.
