Match Report: Saturday 28th September v Methody

It was a 0-0 draw for the 1stXI against Methody in their Superleague clash. The sides were evenly matched, although Ballyclare had their chances and were unlucky not to nick the win. Joanna Nesbitt was player of the match.

The 2AXI took a first half lead through a Nicky Jordan goal from a short corner and enjoyed good play and much of the possession; however, Methody came back with two second half goals to claim the win. Anna O’Hara was player of the match.

Despite being 1-0 down at half time, the 2BXI remained positive and bounced back well in the second half, creating some good chances. The girls were unlucky to concede a second goal in the final minute of the game. Daisy Johnston was player of the match.

The 3rdXI drew 1-1 with their Methody counterparts in a fast paced game which was 0-0 at half time. Methody scored from a corner in the third quarter, before Ballyclare equalised in the fourth through Rachel Neill. Grace Marks was player of the match for her strong work in the Ballyclare goals.

It was a fabulous win for the U15s in their first match of the season, with two great goals from player of the match Cara Ferguson, aided further by Louise Montgomery, Emma Morton and Eve Surgeoner.

The first half in the U14A game was very evenly matched and the score was 0-0 at half time. Unfortunately for Ballyclare, Methody were the only team in the second half to score what was to be the match’s only goal. Emily Gilchrist was player of the match.

It was a similar story in the first half of the U14B game, with a 0-0 score line at half time. Methody scored two unanswered goals in the second half to seal victory. Rebecca Andrew was player of the match.

The U14C team were 1-0 up at half time through a goal by player of the match Mollie McDowell, who scored again in the second half. It was Ellie Hanlon who scored a third and final goal for Ballyclare’s 3-0 win.

A superb 5-0 win for the U13A team saw two goals for Sophie Cox, with further scores from Erin Cochrane, Grace McAllister and Grace Cowden. Zara Robson deserves credit for a great save and Katie Bonar was player of the match.

Rachel Johnston scored first for the U13B team, with player of the match Katie Bonar adding a second before half time. The third and final goal came from Anna Louden to finish off a great 3-0 win.

The U13C team won 3-1 in their game, the goals being scored by player of the match Rachel Simpson, Lauren Montgomery and Sophie McCourt.
