Match Report: Saturday 19th Jan v Strathearn

The 1stXI found themselves in an intense game but Ballyclare broke the deadlock with a goal from player of the match Megan Cochrane. Unfortunately, Strathearn equalised before the break and the final score remained 1-1 with no second half goals.
The 2BXI were unlucky to concede in the first minute, before knocking in conceding two more to make it 3-0 at half time. A better second half saw only one more Strathearn goal conceded. Ellie McBurney was player of the match.
It took penalty shuttles to decide the result of the 3rdXI’s cup quarter-final against Strathearn as the game was scoreless at full time. Ballyclare won 2-1 on shuttles, with Harriet McAllister named player of the match. The girls now progress to the semi-final of the 4thXI Cup.
The U15s won 3-1.

 

 

The U14As were 2-0 down at half time, but player of the match Jen Lamont scored a great second half goal for Ballyclare. Unfortunately, there were unable to find another but played very well.
It was a 1-0 win for the U14Bs with a first half goal from Cara Ferguson. Strathearn mounted some strong attacks, but Ballyclare did well to keep a clean sheet. Amie Reid was player of the match.
The U14Cs lost 1-0.

A great second half goal from player of the match Rachel Con clinched a 1-0 win for the U13As despite strong attacks from Strathearn. Well done to the Year 8s who stepped up and played well. Mollie McDowell put the 13Bs 1-0 up in the first minute, although Strathearn equalised before half time. The game finished 1-1, with Claudia Braiden player of the match. The U13C team recorded a solid 2-0 victory, with goals from Katie Butler in the first half and Rebecca Andrew in the second. Lea-Rose Cleland was player of the match.
