By Ballyclare High School on 7 March, 2024
Ballyclare High School recently had the pleasure of hosting an exciting visit from the bright minds of Ballyclare Primary School P7, Mr. Joyce’s class. The students engaged in a captivating Digital Schoolhouse lesson on Microbits, delving into the world of coding and unleashing their creativity. Led by Mr. Shaw, the workshop was a fantastic opportunity for collaboration, learning, and, most importantly, fun!
The primary focus of the workshop was to introduce the young learners to the fascinating realm of coding using Microbits. One of the highlights of the session was the creation of Tamagotchi-style pets using Microbits. The students were given the opportunity to apply their newly acquired coding skills to design and program their virtual pets. This not only showcased their creativity but also allowed them to witness the tangible results of their coding efforts. The collaboration between Ballyclare High School and Ballyclare Primary School highlights the commitment to fostering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education at an early age. Such experiences not only ignite a passion for technology but also lay the foundation for future learning and career paths.
