Farewell Mrs Montgomery

By Ballyclare High School on 28 June, 2022

Mrs Montgomery joined the Biology Department as Miss Simpson in 2009. Her warm and friendly personality ensured that she formed strong relationships across the staff. She became our Learning for Life and Work coordinator in 2016 and as a from tutor, she discovered her passion for the pastoral care of our pupils becoming Head of Year in 2019. She is in many respects the personification of our mission statement to develop lifelong learners and was spurred on to complete additional courses of a Masters Diploma in Pastoral Care at Queen’s University and Level 4 Certificate in Counselling Studies at the University of Ulster.

Catharine fully embraced the extra-curricular culture in school, playing an active role in Senior SU, Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and assisting on two Stand By Me trips to Ethiopia. When a job opportunity arose in her alma mater, Royal School Dungannon, she couldn’t let it go by. We wish her the very best in her new school and hope she takes with her many fond memories of us all.
