Digital SchoolHouse – Esports Tournament

By Ballyclare High School on 16 December, 2021

The annual E Sports tournament was held on Wednesday 15th December at Ballyclare High School. Sponsored by the national Digital School House programme, the tournament aim is to show students that Esports is not just about playing games, but that by taking part they learn skills that are vital for personal development. Students might not even realise that while they’re having a great time playing and orgainsing the tournament at school, they are also practicing soft skills such as team work, communication, public speaking, and leadership. In particular, students improve their communication and team working skills.
The 2021 tournament was a great success. The top 3 players were Josiah Stewart, Sam Robinson and Daniel McCooke, and as such they will be  representing the school in February at the National Tournament.
