BBC Northern Ireland celebrates the life and work of Robert Burns with a one-hour music special recorded at Rosemary Street Presbyterian Church in Belfast.
Ballyclare High School choir take on board the challenge of singing a cantaireachd the first time this type of music has been heard in Northern Ireland. It echoes the sound of the bagpipes and they have been working alongside former All Ireland Piping Champion, Grahame Harris playing the pibroch on Highland pipes.
While other local acts taking part in the programme include the current All Ireland Solo Highland Piping Champion, Scott Wallace from Dromore.
Burns an’ Mair is presented by Singer, Sylvia Burnside and Drummer and Percussionist Mark Wilson and will be broadcast on BBC Two Northern Ireland at 9pm on Thursday 25 January, the anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns.
