By Ballyclare High School on 25 November, 2019

We are delighted to announce that we will once again be hosting an Evening with Tech in Computing @ QUB on Wednesday 27th November 2019 in the Computer Science Building, Belfast.

An Evening with Tech is for anyone interested in tech including parents/guardians, aunts/uncles, brothers/sisters, grandparents of pupils as well as pupils who are interested in computing/tech and/or studying computing in school.

Computing impacts on every part of our daily lives at work as well as home and the aim of this event is to have an informal gathering as we approach the festive season to explore computing tech. It may be that attendees are interested to hear about what is going on in the tech sector or they are intending to purchase some tech over the festive season, which they would like to try out in advance of the purchase.

At this informal event, attendees will have the opportunity to try out a range of tech from 3D printers, Drones, Virtual Reality headsets, Augmented Reality headsets, smart home technology and latest computer games to test. There will be fun tasks with Sphero challenges. Throughout the evening visitors may sit in on short talks on what is trending in computing today as well as predictions for the future of computing.  There will be workshops on how to build your own Gaming PC.

Visitors are welcome to arrive from 18.30 – 19.00.  Tech Talks breakout sessions will be held throughout the evening, commencing at 19:00.  Light seasonal refreshments will also be available. The evening will conclude at 21:00.
