Summer Honours Assembly

By Ballyclare High School on 21 June, 2024

The Sport, Games and Cultural Committee held their Summer Honours Assembly on the 18th of June. Our Guest of Honour was Mr Barr, who is retiring at the end of the school year after 38 years of service to Ballyclare High School.

At our Assembly, 7 Honours Blazers were awarded across a range of sports, and pockets awarded recognised attainments including Grade 8 Music and placement in the National Youth Choir NI. Finn Lutton received the Lowe Globe for International Sporting Representation, with Joy Duncan being awarded the Most Outstanding Girl in Sport and Jacob Scarlett, the Most Outstanding Boy in Sport. Further mentions of outside school achievements included representation in British Wrestling and Northern Ireland U15 Football, while Mr Barr received back to school trophies won by our pupils in badminton. This assembly is also the culmination of our House competitions, this year won by Aikin. What a superb celebration of our pupils’ achievements across sport, arts and culture!
