SEAG Information for Parents

At Ballyclare High School, we accept candidates who participate in the SEAG Entrance Assessment, the standardised transfer test used by most grammar schools in Northern Ireland. This assessment, managed by the Schools’ Entrance Assessment Group (SEAG), provides a fair and consistent measure of academic ability across all participating schools.

It comprises two papers—one focusing on English and the other on Mathematics—each containing multiple-choice and free-response questions. The results are presented as Standardised Age Scores (SAS) and a Total Standardised Age Score (TSAS), which help schools assess applicants' suitability for academic selection. For more detailed information, including registration procedures and key dates, please view the video below and visit the SEAG official website at www.seagni.co.uk.
