English Facilities and Staff

There are eight English rooms shared among the teaching staff of the department. All rooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and several have networked computers. This allows pupils access to ICT support for a full range of creative and analytical tasks in their classroom.

The library is also a significant resource for our department. Pupils in English classes right through the school benefit from tapping into the wealth of information on offer through books, online resources and dedicated learning space supervised by our school librarian.

Our teaching staff contribute to a wide range of activities beyond the classroom. Creative writing clubs and public speaking groups are run by staff in the English Department but our teachers are also involved in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, school sport representation in rugby, hockey and cricket teams as well as the school’s annual staged musical production.
