Four pupils from Ballyclare High School have triumphed at the Sentinus Young Innovators competition in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Tuesday, 19 June.
The girls will now be jetting off to London to represent Northern Ireland in the UK National Science and Engineering competition, part of the Big Bang Fair in London next March.
Amy, Esther, Aimee and Lisa will now represent Northern Ireland at the Big Bang Science competition in London.
Only four projects were selected to represent Northern Ireland in science in London, and two of them came from Ballyclare High School.
Amy Campbell and Esther McNeill (Y13) undertook research with the University of Ulster on creating biomedical polymers for use in medical implants, whilst Lisa Patterson and Aimee Russell developed and analysed a loud speaker made from a strip of aluminum foil.
